Project title: Is justice fair

Stichting Cultural Aid (SCA) from The Netherlands is officially announcing an open call for young documentary makers from The Netherlands who would like to participate in a film workshop “Is justice fair” which will be realized in Nutshuis, The Hague, Netherlands in the period 2 – 9 November 2011.

The analytical documentary film workshop gathers 12 young filmmakers from different European countries to explore the broader notion of freedom, justice and fairness. The program includes:

-           individual and group analyses,

-          close encounters with top professionals from various sectors,

-          observation of trials and visit to International Court(s),

-          analyzing film fragments related to the subject.

Through these activities participants will go deeper into the theoretical and practical aspects of justice and fairness, but also they will reflect to their national perception.  As we consider film as most artistic and effective tool for results presentation, we believe this program provides a solid base for the creation of new film works and international co-operations. The goal of the 7-day program is to equip young documentary makers with adequate knowledge and skills so they can produce films which will alter the local perception of people in their countries.

The participants from several European countries (Netherlands, Albania, Serbia, Turkey, Macedonia, Kosovo, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina) are going to be instructed by high professionals from the film sector. Mentor of the workshop is Mr. Goran Dević,  a Croatian film director and screenwriter, film lecturer.

SCA encourages documentary makers from The Netherlands who fall in the age group between 20 and 30 to take part in this extraordinary project.  To enrol in the program, all interested are advised to read the CRITERIA for enrolment and submit all necessary documents before

15 October 2011 following the official rules for applying.
