Still a few months ahead, we are already busy with the preparations for this year’s edition of ENFF. And there are some novelties coming! There will be a new place, new and exciting programme features and new cooperations! As you are used from us, naturally there will be interesting guests and lots of films for thought. ENFF proudly congratulates Nejra Latic Hulusic and David-Jan Bronsgeest on their selection for the competition programme at Hotdocs – Canadian International Documentary Festival 2012!
The two young directors met during the ENFF international film workshop in 2010. Stimulated by their cooperation during the workshop, they developed and shot the short documentary Her Cinema Love. The film had its international premiere at ENFF in 2011 and screened at a number of European festivals afterwards.
Eastern Neighbours Film Festival wishes the two young directors a lot of success in Toronto, and would also like to thank the European Cultural Foundation for supporting our educational program and making international cooperations between new, young talents possible.

REHA ERDEM – THE FILM MAKER IN FOCUS AT ENFF, REDISCOVERED IN UTRECHT

Utrecht’s visitors of ENFF will certainly remember Reha Erdem’s films for its amazing poetry and contemplative quality. Türkü Turan, the actress from “Kosmos” and Cüneyt Cebenoyan, a film critic, were presenting his films with great enthusiasm, knowledge and charm.

A big number of young people attended the last Brunch at ENFF that was devoted to the Turkish new talents. ENFF guests Imre Azem and Belma Baş were not only talking about their intriguing films and impact that cinema can have in a society, but also about the documentary scene as well as the art house production in Turkey.

THE BRIDGE – UPLIFTING TALE FROM KOSOVO

We are proud to present this uplifting animation movie from a country where film production is tiny. “The Bridge” is an 8-minute fairy tale about two sides of a river, two different worlds. The film is about human conditions and how the world of children, full of hope and expectations, meets the by pragmatism and disappointment coloured world of adults. Of these five film makers, Zehra Derya Koç (1977, Turkey) is our special guest on Sunday. She is the writer and director of the short feature “Kül”, one of the five shorts shot in the Turkish province Kars, on the border with Armenia.
