We proudly announce that the Serbian romantic comedy HERE AND THERE will have its Dutch premiere at ENFF 2010 at the closing ceremony. This intriguing intimate drama, directed by the talented Darko Lungulov, is currently released in New York and 18 other USA cities, after having been at dozens of film festivals worldwide, receiving more than twenty important awards. One of them is the prestigious popularity Oscar as the most popular film in 2009 by audience votes.

The film is currently in theatrical distribution in the USA, Germany and Switzerland and is coming soon to theatres in Greece, Argentina, Macedonia. Special guest at the screening is the leading actress Mirjana Karanovic.

Valery Todorovsky

Director, screenwriter, producer. Was born 08.05.1962 in Odessa. Graduated from the department of screenwriters of VGIK (1984). Screenwriter of 14 fiction films. Prize-winner of international and national film festival. Producer of 30 television series and 19 feature films.
Wrote the scripts for the successful films Dvoynik (1986), Gambrinus (1990), Cynics (Cyniki, 1991), and Over the Dark Water (Nad tyomnoy vodoy, 1993). He debuted as a director with Mortuary Car (Katafalk, 1989, Golden Ducat in Mannheim). This was followed by the acclaimed films Love (Lyubov, 1991), an updated film version of Nikolai Leskov’s novel Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District entitled Katya Ismailova (Podmoskovniye vechera, 1994), the drama The Land of the Deaf (Strana glukhikh, 1997), The Lover (Lyubovnik, 2002), My Stepbrother Frankenstein (Moy svodny brat Frankenshteyn, 2004), Vice (Tiski, 2007), Hipsters (Stilyagi, 2008)

• While trying to make quick cash, Robert, a cynical New Yorker, ends up in chaotic Serbia, where instead of money he finds his soul. One of those rare movies that strikes the perfect balance between the wry comedy and delicate drama.

Stichting Cultural Aid (SCA) from The Netherlands is officially announcing an open call for young actors from The Netherlands who would like to participate in a film workshop in Utrecht, Netherlands in the period 18 – 26 October 2010.

The informal workshop program is designed to compare different cultural stands of young people regarding the proposed topic. Analyses are to be done through close elaboration on different genres of films, re-enacting the scenes from the movies and explaining the approach. Analysing violent elements seen through a cultural and individual prism, will open a broad discussion on the emotional impact, possible different categories of people and ethical and aesthetical issues concerning violence in film.
The participants from several European countries are going to be instructed by high professionals from the film sector: Ms. Willeke van Ammelrooy, Ms. Mirjana Karanovic, and Ms. Sinolicka Trpkova.

SCA encourages young actors from The Netherlands who fall in the age group between 20 and 25 to take part in this extraordinary project. To enrol in the program, all interested are advised to read the CRITERIA for enrolment and submit all necessary documents before 15 July 2010 following the official rules for applying.

Stichting Cultural Aid

For this edition, we are bringing to the Dutch audience real gems of recent, engaging cinema of the Eastern European non EU countries. Some of them are part of a complete brake-through regarding cinematic style, others are hilarious comedies and satires. We also present deep social dramas that will engage the audience in the debates that we plan to held during our festival for the first time. Most films will have a Dutch premiere, being presented by inspiring guests, directors and actors.
Furthermore, we have established new initiatives in the festival, dedicating ourselves to engage young film makers in exciting workshops and connecting experienced producers and directors to stimulate an exchange providing a platform for possible international co-productions.
