A shared intimate memory of the moment when a woman’s childhood ended and the war in Sarajevo began.
Synopsis
The narrator’s monologue is confronted with the images of the spaces where the memories were born, special moments that marked the end of childhood and the beginning of the Bosnian war. Directed by a young woman who embraces cinema in many different aspects: as an academic having PhD in Film and Literature, as a lecturer in script writing at the Academy for Performing Arts in Sarajevo, as a film producer and scriptwriter of several successful feature fiction films (such as ‘Snow’, awarded at the Cannes Film Festival), as well as the main programmer of the fiction competition at the Sarajevo Film Festival. Tataragic engages in directing only when something is really close to her heart, as this story is. This refined narrative touches viewers’ hearts not only by the obvious intimacy but also by profound choice of the cinematic language used in this small film gem.

Verhaal
Monoloog van de verteller die wordt geconfronteerd met de beelden van de ruimten waarin de herinneringen werden geboren en bijzondere momenten die het einde van de kindertijd en het begin van de oorlog in Bosnië markeren. Geregisseerd door een jonge vrouw die cinema op vele manieren omarmt: als academicus met doctoraat in Film en Literatuur, als docent scenarioschrijven aan de Academy for Performing Arts in Sarajevo, als filmproducent en scenarioschrijver van verschillende succesvolle speelfilms (waaronder ‘Snow’, dat in Cannes in de prijzen viel), en als de belangrijkste programmeur van de fictiecompetitie van het Sarajevo Film Festival. Tataragic regisseert alleen als het haar raakt en dat doet dit verhaal. Deze verfijnde vertelling raakt de harten van kijkers niet alleen door de voor de hand liggende intimiteit, maar ook door de keuze van de filmtaal die gebruikt wordt in dit filmjuweeltje.
