Synopsis
Borian and his father Barjaktar have left behind a Kosovo in ruins. All day long, images of the war play on the television. Then the signal fails. It’s a sign for Borian to meet his girlfriend Eva on the roof. When his father shows up to repair the satellite dish, the young lovers’ relationship gets complicated… Born in Albania and raised in Brussels, the director consistently tries to embrace these opposing cultures in his films. This film already won several awards: at Milan Online Film Festival, 2016 – Best Cinematography and at Roma Cinema DOC, 2016 – Special Mention Directing.
Een short met weinig dialoog en zorgvuldig opgebouwde, dramatische actie.
Verhaal
Borian en zijn vader Barjaktar hebben een Kosovo in puin achtergelaten. De hele dag zijn de oorlogsbeelden op televisie. Opeens verdwijnt het signaal. Voor Borian is dit het seintje om zijn vriendin Eva op het dak te ontmoeten. Als zijn vader ook het dak op komt om de satellietschotel te repareren, veroorzaakt dat complicaties in de relatie van de jonge geliefden… De in Albanië geboren en in Brussel getogen regisseur probeert in zijn films deze twee tegengestelde culturen te verenigen. Deze film won al meerdere prijzen: Best Cinematography bij Milan Online Film Festival 2016 en Special Mention Directing bij Roma Cinema DOC 2016.
