An ironic, amusing story of a tow-truck operator who has visions of Virgin Mary. He doesn’t know what to do with her.
Marinko is an assistant worker in the tow-away service. He lives in a cheap rented flat in Zagreb and has only one friend although it sometimes seems better not to have even that one. Recently, he has been having visions of the Virgin Mary everywhere: in stone, in the clouds, in a glass. Marinko is not sane. An amazing short fiction debut by Croatian director Juraj Primorac who has already received several prizes, including the Special Mention at the Film Fest Gent and the Best Screenplay at the Croatian Film Days.
Juraj Primorac, born 1986 in Zagreb, graduated from the Faculty of philosophy of the Society of Jesus, University of Zagreb with a degree in philosophy and religious science (MA). He gained a BA degree in Film and Television Directing at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb. He worked as an assistant director on several short films. “Mary” is his first professional short fiction film.
