Five days of shooting were enough for this meticulously rendered, deeply insightful portrayal of a crucial moment in the life of a survivor.
Synopsis
On a cold winter’s day, a young woman travels from the countryside to an address in the city, where she’s never been before. There she hopes to get something that may affect her future. Raisa sets off on a fateful journey into the unknown at the break of dawn. ENFF is especially glad to have an opportunity to present a great short film from a small and lesser known cinema of the Republic of Moldova. The director who studied in Moldova and Romania continued his education in Austria. With this precisely done, refined story he has been selected for the Vienna Independent Shorts 2016 and won the Best International Short Film Award at the Sunscreen Film Festival 2016, the 3rd Open Poznan Award at the Short Waves Festival 2016 and the Special Mention Award at the Sleepwalkers International Short Film Festival 2015.
Vijf opnamedagen waren genoeg voor deze zorgvuldige gemaakte, bijzonder inzichtelijke weergave van een cruciaal moment in het leven van een ‘survivor’.
Verhaal
Op een koude winterdag reist een jonge vrouw van het platteland naar een plek in de stad waar ze nog nooit eerder is geweest. Ze hoopt daar iets te vinden dat haar toekomst zal veranderen. Bij het aanbreken van de dag begint Raisa aan haar noodlottige reis naar het onbekende. ENFF is trots deze geweldige korte film uit Moldavië te mogen presenteren; Moldavië is een land met een kleine en nog niet heel bekende filmindustrie. De regisseur studeerde eerst in Moldavië en Roemenië en vervolgde zijn opleiding in Oostenrijk. Met dit nauwgezet vertelde, verfijnde verhaal is hij geselecteerd voor de Vienna Independent Shorts 2016 en won hij de Best International Short Film Award op het Sunscreen Film Festival 2016, de 3e Open Poznan Award op het Short Waves Festival 2016 en de Special Mention Award op het Sleepwalkers International Short Film Festival 2015.
