Synopsis
A journey full of unexpected twists and turns that engages the viewer with moving honesty, drama and a special humour. This is a documentary that will stay in our mind for a long time after watching it. Anti is a 18-year-old Roma-boy who loves to play his guitar. He has the chance to break out of a rundown Roma slum in a remote corner of Hungary and travels to the Snetberger Music Talent Center, where he has been selected for his talent, alongside sixty other Roma-youngsters. He has the chance of a better life. The question is whether he can make the most of this golden opportunity. Does he possess the ability to change his seemingly predestined life? The director Tamas Almasi is one of the most well known Hungarian documentary filmmakers. He has also been teaching filmmaking at the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest and founded the prestigious international MA film school Doc Nomads.

Verhaal
Een reis vol onverwachte wendingen die de kijker aangrijpt door de eerlijkheid, drama en haar bijzondere humor. Deze documentaire zal je na afloop nog steeds aan het denken zetten. Anti is een 18-jarige Roma-jongen die van gitaarspelen houdt. Hij krijgt de kans om uit een vervallen Roma-sloppenwijk in een uithoek van Hongarije te ontsnappen. Anti reist naar de Snetberger Music Talent Center waarvoor hij, net als zestig andere Roma-jongeren, is geselecteerd dankzij zijn talent. Hij heeft een kans op een beter leven. Maar kan hij deze gouden kans benutten? Kan hij zijn schijnbaar voorbestemde leven veranderen? De regisseur Tamas Almasi is een van de bekendste Hongaarse documentairemakers. Hij doceerde filmmaken aan de University of Theatre and Film Arts in Boedapest en is oprichter van de prestigieuze internationale MA filmschool Doc Nomads.
