FIRST FILMS SELECTED
We are happy to announce first film titles for Eastern Neighbours Film Festival 2017! This year, ENFF brings two award-winning films by Katarina Zrinka Matijevic, a prominent Croatian director. A poetic documentary A Two Way Mirror about author’s personal quest for inner peace, and a feature debut The Trampoline which tells a powerful and unordinary love story while digging into the dark side of mother-daughter relationship. During the Festival, ENFF will also screen an acclaimed and black humoured Requiem for Mrs. J. by Bojan Vuletic. The film premiered at this year’s Berlinale and won the award for the best film at goEast in Wiesbaden. It’s a story about desperate widow planning her final days with Mirjana Karanovic at her best in this role. Exciting news: A great Serbian actress will be among our VIP guests again! Furthermore, the festival will showcase Shooting Star by Lyubo Yonchev, a new voice from Bulgaria. This short, compelling film about how far would a mother go to protect her children, was nominated for the prestigious European Film Academy award in 2016 and won over 30 awards. The new edition of ENFF will be held from 1 – 5 November in Filmhuis Den Haag. More feature films, documentaries, short films and animations from East and South-East Europe to be announced! As the Festival approaches, don’t miss a single update. Sing up for our newsletter and find us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
