ENFF On Tour in Amsterdam brings an inspiring, dynamic encounter with LEON LUČEV, a true star of Eastern European cinema – an actor, director, producer, acting teacher, born in Croatia, who works nowadays in many countries in the region.
“In this work I will try to compress and practically present, by involving the participants very actively, my own creative work and research in the field of cinema. I’ll do that from various perspectives: the acting perspective, the director’s, producer’s and writer’s perspective as well as the pedagogical perspective. In the process of compressing myself to the point from which it all begins and also, by listening to that process, I was able to develop myself further. This is also how I encourage others and we follow each other, creatively, emotionally, as people, as beings. Encountering and getting in touch with ourselves, with partners, with the public, with the camera, with students… these were and are the central points of my work. This is what I share.“

“Everybody is talented to act. Because everybody is acting every day.”
‘’I was born in Croatia (Sibenik), was raised and lived on the island of Zlarin, in Sibenik, Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Belgrade and Sarajevo. As a child, I wanted to be a driver. I passed through war, I graduated the Faculty of Dramatic Arts. As an actor, I played in 60 movies, as a director and co-director I have made 2 films, as a writer and co-writer also 2, as co-author 1, as a producer 4. I worked as acting pedagogue on 2 Academies. As an actor, I was member of Theatre ITD in Zagreb and the National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka. I created and led my own workshops in Pula, Tunis, Vienna, Zagreb… These are numbers and facts. Behind all that is a human being that loves, is vulnerable, honest, brave…and for whom art is a way of communicating with the world he doesn’t understand.’’
After the masterclass, ENFF will screen MEN DON’T CRY, a brilliant film by director Alen Drljevic in which Leon Lučev remarkably performed.
